At our first initial meeting, I will gather information regarding your desires, needs, likes, dislikes, and interests for your outdoor space. I will show you examples of actual designs and explain the process to you. Digital photographs will be taken of your property, along with measurements. A plat of survey of the property might be requested at this time, to confirm dimensions. A down payment of half of the design total along with a signed contract is all that is needed to begin work on your project. I will send you a Dropbox link to preview your design during the design process. You can sign up for a free app on your computer, tablet or mobile phone. The design can be viewed on the provided link for a certain period of time. This way you can inform me if any changes need to be made before the presentation.
Within a week and a half to two weeks I will set up a second meeting with you to present the design to you. At that time, I will review the plant material selections by presenting pictures and plans for plant placement. If hardscapes are included in the plan, they are reviewed along with explanations of different elevations. Final payment will be due at this time. All designs include a flash drive containing your plans. If you require services such as a second design option, there will be an additional charge. During the design phase of your project, I encourage you to contact me with any questions or concerns. All designs are kept on my computer for one year.
For contractors, landscaping companies and others who do not have a full-time designer on staff, I can provide professional designs as you require them. We can discuss your projects via email, text, phone or face-to-face. Your company’s salesperson can send me information and photos quickly, allowing for a streamlined design process.
I take great personal pride in creating custom designs for homeowners or commercial businesses that are truly unique. Types and styles of designs can range from informal to formal; various degrees of seasonal interest; low to high maintenance; and more. I gather all pertinent information from you in order to personalize the design to your wishes and needs. All plant material chosen for the designs is grown locally in the Northwest region of Illinois to ensure they will flourish. My designs come with a complete plant list and all information necessary for installation. This allows the homeowner or contractor to decide if they would like to do the installation, hire a landscaper to install, or leave it to me to carry the process through to completion, supervising the installation to make sure my landscape plan is followed in detail.
